FMCGs have a short shelf life because of high consumer demand (e.g., soft drinks and confections) or because they are perishable (e.g., meat, dairy products, and baked goods). FMCD stands for Fast Moving Consumer Durables. FMCG on the other hand is fast moving consumer goods. FMCG is different from FMCD. FMCG products are consumed almost immediately and they need the consumer to replenish from time to time. While FMCD products don not exhaust with one usage.
